Brady threads needle for first preseason TD

Tom Brady‘s first quarter against Carolina on Friday might have been the ugliest one of his preseason career. Brady threw two interceptions in the quarter, marking the first time since 2002 that he’s thrown two picks in one quarter in a preseason game.

Brady shook all of that off in the second quarter though and ended the half with a two-minute drive that was vintage Brady.

The Patriots quarterback went 5-of-7 for 71 yards on an 80-yard scoring drive that only took 1:23. The best throw of the drive was Brady’s final one, an 18-yard touchdown pass to Scott Chandler that you can see below.

It was Brady’s first touchdown pass of the preseason.

Brady finished the first half 7-of-13 for 84 yards. The Patriots ended up beating the Panthers, 17-16.
